Accomodation

We recommend that you stay in our home city of Winchester during the wedding period, rather than in the New Forest if you can. Theres plenty more to do in Winchester and great links to the rest of the country.  We'll be setting up transport to and from the Venue so don't worry about that!

Theres two hotels we really recommend checking out (we've stayed in both before), the Winchester Royal Hotel, a 2 minute walk from our apartment in the heart of the City and the beautiful Winchester Hotel & Spa.

Things to do: The Local Area

Winchester

Our home city, steeped in history, Winchester is England's ancient capital and former seat of King Alfred the Great.

With a magnificent Cathedral, some of the best pubs and restaurants around, as well an array of independent shops. A medieval city, surrounded by the beautiful rolling countryside of the South Downs National Park.

Step back in time and discover the natural beauty of our wedding destination, only a short drive from Winchester.

Once a royal hunting ground for William the Conqueror, the New Forest is made up of vast tracts of unspoilt woodland, heathland and river valleys. Today deer, ponies and cattle continue to roam free in its ancient heaths and woodland.

The Venue: Burley Manor

Nestled within the depths of the New Forest National Park, and only a short drive from Winchester, Burley Manor’s first recorded owner was Forester Roger de Burley back in 1212, before the lands were forfeited to the crown. Since then the site and buildings have lived many lives, including as a Military HQ during the war.

Now, it hosts us all for our Wedding Celebration!
